If you are not able to use the 'service' command (ie service httpd restart), then you need to add an alias so it gets recognized. Run the following commands as root via ssh:
Code:
whereis service
That will show you the path your service command has whether or not it is installed. After you get the correct path, run the following:
Code:
alias service='/sbin/service'
Most likely the path is /sbin/service but if the whereis command shows a different one, use that in the above command.
I have a two small shared hosting packages and the price I pay I don't expect to receive very good support. I accept with any shared hosting uptime cannot be guaranteed neither can it be 100% and anyone who suggests otherwise is living a dream. However on the occasions I have opened a ticket they have been answered and investigated promptly. I have been with ayksolutions.com since Jun/18/2008 oh wow where has the time gone!
I've been a client of AYK Solutions for about six months now. They have provided the best overall experience I have had in over 10 years. I've tried iWeb, SingleHop, and a few others supposed to be the so-called best. Specifically, you are dealing with personal, professionals with AYK Solutions, and they are willing to help when all others want to charge you $** for this and $**/hr for that. I'm happy, and have no plans of going anywhere else; ever.
